UBL wins Bank of the Year Award for 2nd consecutive year

London: United Bank Limited (UBL) has been awarded ‘Bank of the Year 2013 Pakistan’ by international publication ‘The Banker’. UBL had achieved this award for the 2nd consecutive year. Deputy Chairman of UBL Sir Mohammed Anwar Pervez OBE and and Zameer Choudrey Director UBL received the award. Pakistani banks have faced a number of challenges over the past year, including declining interest rates and an increase in the cost of deposits due to the overall economic situation of the country. The biggest challenge has been maintaining shareholder returns through alternate revenue streams such as fee-based income, trading gains and dividends on diversified investment portfolios and by balance sheet growth in a slow economic environment.Sir Anwar Pervez expressed his views after receiving this award. We need to perform with our full abilities and capabilities in order to maintain the business and share in economic growth of Pakistan, and we are committed, he added.
