PHC arranges first reception for PML-N leaders in London

LONDON: After victory in general elections in Pakistan, the day, when Pakistan High Commission (PHC) London hosted a reception in honour three PML-N senators was important for ‘Matwalas’ of Britain chapter where everyone of them was chief guest.
Three important leaders Senators Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Secretary General, Senator Mushahidullah Khan, Secretary Information and Senator Kamran Michael, Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping, who are in the UK, were given reception by PHC and PML-N ‘Matwalas’ were especially invited.
The PML-N Britain leaders and workers were happy as they were to attending the reception in a building, out of which they were holding protests in chilly weather against the dictatorship of Pervez Musharraf, today they were invited with honour and dignity in the building.
The workers living in London and adjacent areas are in contact with President Britain chapter Zubair Gul, this is why a good number of ‘Matwalas’ and friendly media workers attended the reception on a very short notice.
The PHC London not took this event seriously and not bothered to email media persons, while it is a common practice that after email professionals from different fields and media, PHC informed through telephone calls. As per diplomatic manners this was not a big event.
High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hassan briefly welcomed the guests and then invited them for address.
Addressing the gathering, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said it feels nice as this function remains main link of overseas Pakistanis with their motherland. He said that Pakistan Government under leadership of Nawaz Sharif is eager and firm to give better future to people of Pakistan.
Whole cabinet is charged to do something for Pakistan and no moment of any minister is passing without thinking for Pakistan while whole party cadre and state machinery has similar direction to make development, prosperity and stability of Pakistan their target, Jhagra said.
“Time is not so far when country will be stable, strong and prosperous’, Jhagra said, adding that enemies of Pakistan are working to destabilize the country, but our firm belief will frustrate their designs.
“We are firm and strong in belief that the menaces of inflation, terrorism and corruption”, Jhagra said.
He said all Pakistanis in Britain are ambassadors of Pakistan and his party respect the sacrifices rendered by British Pakistanis for democracy.
Legislation is imperative to address the problems of overseas Pakistanis and PML-N is in consultation with concerned circles, he said, adding government is serious to resolve the problems like telephone charges, increase in airfare by PIA, visa issue and many other problems of overseas Pakistanis.
Senator Mushahidullah and Senator Kamran Michael while highlighting the reason of their Britain visit said PML-N Government right from first day, it assumed power is struggling against the menace of corruption and wants to take every thing on merit. Overseas Pakistan are being considered as asset of nation by PML-N and are firm to resolve all the problems they are facing, they said.
The reception was attended by Zuber Gul, PML-N Britain president, Sr. Vice president Nasir Butt, Nazir Butt, women wing president Begum Nawadar, vice president Mian Masroor, media secretary Shakir Qureshi, secretary legal wing Ansar Chaudhry, Iqbal Sindhu, Umair Pasha, Rafiq Awan, Akbar Chaudhry, Ijaz Ahmed and Shakil Kayani.
