Kashmir Petition for signatures arrives in Derby

DERBY: Signature Campaign on petition to initiate debate on Kashmir issue in British Parliament arrived in Derby from North of England, which was kicked off by Kashmiri leaders in presence of Derbyshire Parliamentarian Heather Wheeler, Conservative Party candidate Amenda Sololo, Conservative candidates for European Parliament Stephen Caster and Brendin Smith.
The meeting called by Raja Najabat Hussain, Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Right of Self Determination Movement (JKSDM) and Conservative Party candidate Amenda Sololo, on one side was attended by dozens of leaders of Conservative Party East Midlands and campaign officers and they got awareness of emotions of Kashmiris, which on the other Advisor to AJK Premier, Sardar Abdul Rehman, Allama Fazal Ahmed Qadri and Chaudhry Muhammad Maqsood of Sunni Hurriyat Council, Rana Shama Nazir of British Kashmiri Women Council, Councillor Haleema Khalid Chairperson Conservative Muslim Forum East Midland, PML-N leaders Haji Muhamamd Bashir, Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmed, Raja Aftab, Raja Muhammad Rasab, Raja Shahzad Nazir, Babu Muhammad Iqbal, Raja Muhammad Ashraf, PPP Bradford leader Chaudhry Abdul Qayyum, Muhammad Ilyas and Laiq Ahmed of Conservative Party Nottingham, Muhammad jameel and Sadia Jameel from Britain, participated in the meeting.
The participants have devised strategy to take the signature campaign to different areas and get the petition signed by more and more people and they sought help and assistance from Heather Wheeler MP so that Kashmir issue be highlighted on diplomatic front as well as get support of maximum Parliamentarian to start debate on Kashmir.
In his speech Raja Najabat Hussain, Chairman JKSDM briefed Conservative Party leaders saying that more than one million British Kashmiris want to rise against the Indian brutalities and are expecting from politicians to help activate world community to allow Kashmiris exercise their right of self determination.
Speaking on the occasion Heather Wheeler MP, no doubt there are little number of Kashmiris in his constituency, in support Kashmiris of Derby City, she is not only signing the petition but will help JKSDM leaders to get it signed from parliamentarians.
Renowned Kashmiri leader Allama Fazal Ahmed Qadri in his address highlight increasing violations of human rights and erection of wall on Line of Control saying, “We are not demanding Indian soil, but are talking about freedom of people living in State of Jammu Kashmir”.
Councillor Haleema Khalid of CMF said she has given petition to Parliamentarian of his constituency and Defence Secretary and will continue to support the JKSDM to get this petition signed by maximum number of people. “We will use all out efforts to make this movement a success”, she added.
Rana Shama Nazir, most vibrant activist of Kashmiri movement talked about Indian brutalities meted out on women and children of Kashmir and appealed the world community to keep aside the tussle of countries and save human losses in Kashmir.
Stephen Caster, conservative Party candidate for European Parliament said he has visited Indian occupied Kashmir as a tourist and has observed the ongoing movement in Kashmir keenly. “I will summon a meeting of Parliamentarians in my area and Kashmiri leaders and invited Raja Najabat Hussain and his team to get more support for this petition.
