LONDON: Formation of Overseas Complaint Wing (OCW) in Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court of Pakistan will help resolve problems of Overseas Pakistani and give them a better relief, said Ahmed Shahzad, Chairman UK Chapter of Human Rights Society of Pakistan.
The struggle done by overseas Pakistanis has yielded results as there were lots of petitions including his own petition regarding the issue in Supreme Court and now it is a welcome move and lots of lauds to Chief Justice Tassaduq Jeelani.
Ahmed Shahzad said for the last two years he was struggling to make any system to resolve the problems of overseas Pakistanis. “I met then Chief Justice, Law Secretary, Election Commissioner and many other relevant people at helm of affairs to take matter towards logical conclusion”, he added.
This wing will help in resolution of problems the overseas Pakistanis are facing and give them relief, but protection of overseas Pakistanis from land mafia and land grabbers is yet to be provided for which I will continue my struggle, Ahmed Shahzad said.
He said for this petition he has appeared before Supreme Court for three times and struggled a lot on other forums. It was decides in National Judicial Committee to hear the old and new cases of overseas Pakistanis quickly and opening of OCW in Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court was ordered, he maintained.
Pakistani media in UK, S M Zafar, Khalid Ranjha and Justice Zahid Hussain have played vital role in this regard, he said, adding the ways and means for filing complaints in the OCW will be announced soon.
He said overseas Pakistan will file their complaints in Pakistan High Commission or send to Islamabad on fax number 0092519220581.
