Kashmiris concerned over role of Minister KGB in AJK bye-polls

BRADFORD: Overseas Kashmiris have expressed their concern over role played by Birjees Tahir, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan (KGB) in bye-elections of AJK and asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to sack the minister for his controversial in elections.

These views were expressed by leaders of Right of Self Determination Movement (SDM) including its Patron Sardar Abdul Rehman Khan, Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain, General Secretary Muhammad Azam, Amjid Hussain, Salar Mumtaz Chishti, Councilor Ghazanfar Khaliq, Women Wing leaders Sabiha Shahzad, Falak Khan, Yasmeen Dar and others.

They said Minister of KGB was behind deployment of Rangers and character assassination of AJK Prime Minister and these acts are causing embarrassment for overseas Kashmiris.

The SDM leaders in a meeting said the organization will speed up its efforts to highlight Kashmir issue on international level during the month of March. Besides functions arranged in British and European parliament, the SDM will hold functions with Parliamentarians at Birmingham, Rochdale, Walsall, Bradford, London and Watford, Nottingham and Leeds, they said.

A committee was formed under the chairmanship of Malik Rehmat Awan to gear up efforts for signature campaign on Kashmir petition while women wing leaders will organize Lobby Programs with British and European Parliamentarians.

It was decided the SDM will decorate awards to successful Kashmiri and Pakistani women and Kashmir friendly parliamentarians and the organization will also arrange support for charities of Lord Mayors of Bradford and Manchester.
