JKSDM launches online petition to get support of British MPs

BRADFORD: Jammu Kashmir Right of Self Determination Movement (JKSDM) has launched the Kashmir Petition Online aiming to hold debate in British Parliament on Kashmir issue, which was suggested by Andrew Griffiths, Chairman Parliamentary Kashmir Group and was drafted by Fiona Mctegret MP from Slough.

The office and staff of David Ward, MP from Bradford East is assisting the JKSDM office bearers, while parliamentarians from all three major parties of Britain and Kashmir friendly Parliamentarians are supporting the petition.

The JKSDM distributed the petition among Councillors, political parties of Kashmir and Pakistan t ensure signatures on the petition.

With active support from David Ward MP, the JKSDM handover te petition to British Parliamentarian from 1 pm to 6 pm on February 5, 2014 on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

JKSDM office bearers are busy in getting signatures of Kashmiri community on the petition in presence of Parliamentarian in their respective areas to highlight the issue on large scale.

The online link of the petition http://signme.org.uk/892 will be available on David Ward MP’s personal website and on website of JKSDM, while people can contact Councillors and parliamentarians.

Chairman JKSDM Raja Najabat Hussain, Advisor to AJK Premier, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khan, councillor Ghazanfar Khaliq along with office bearers of women wing were briefing the media about details of the meeting.

Earlier the officer bearers of JKSDM women wing Shahnaz Siddiq, Sabiha Khan along with Raja Najabat hold detailed meeting with group leader of Liberal Party Bradford Council and discussed te ways and means to present the petition.

The JKSDM women wing finalized the program to hold meetings to get support from Parliamentarians in Yorkshire, Religious Scholars and Mosque committee members.

To link the Councillors with JKSDM program conferences will be held at Davis Berry, Healifax, Bradford, Nelson, Burnley, London, Derby, Nottingham, while a national conference will be hold at Bradford City Hall on December 14.

The national conference will be organized by former Lord Mayor Bradford Councillor Ghazanfar Khaliq, former Lord Mayor Councillor Naveeda Ikram, Councillor Kaneez Akhtar and Rizwana Jameel, while Sabiha Khan and Ghazala Kazmi from Bradford Muslim Forum, active supporters of JKSDM Rubi Khalid Bhatti and Falak Naz Khan, Conservative leader Itrat Ali, JKSDM leader Yasmeen Dar, Asia Banu, Mishal Aqeel, Shabana Abbasi.

The conference will be attended by Trade Union Congress UK President Muhammad Taj, a Kashmiri, Liberal MEP Rebecca Taylor, David Ward MP and Kashmiri and Pakistani community leaders from all over Britain.

Speaking on the occasion, Adviser to AJK Premier, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khan appealed Pakistani and Kashmiri community members to take part in the JKSDM move saying that in past the JKSDM highlighted Kashmir issue on international level, which helped to get a large scale support from British and European Parliamentarians.
