Consul General of Pakistan visits Rochdale Town Hall

Rochdale: Newly appointed Consul General of Pakistan at Manchester Zahoor Ahmed visited Rochdale Town Hall with his officers on the invitation of Barrister Amjad Malik APL chairman and current president Rochdale Law Association.

The Lord Mayor of Rochdale Cllr. Peter Rush warmly welcome the delegation which was comprised of Zahoor Ahmed Consul General of Pakistan at Manchester, Sajid Qazi Community Welfare Attache, Amir Thaheem the Commercial Counsellor, Ali Naqvi Education Attaché, besides former Lord Mayor of Manchester Cllr. Afzal Khan, Dr Abdul Hafeez the pioneer of APPS (UK), Advocate Javaid Iqbal from APL, Advocate Kashif Hameed from APL, Advocate Ghulam Rasool Shehzad Chair of the Association of Pakistani Graduates, Former Lord Mayor of Rochdale Cllr, Sultan Ali, Aitzaz Arshad from Harrison Bryce Solicitors.

Amjad Malik welcomed the new Consul General and his team and assured of his maximum cooperation for the welfare of the people of Pakistan and its origin settled in Rochdale and UK and discussed relevant issues confronted to overseas Pakistanis.

Mr. Ahmed and his team thanked Mr. Malik and the Lord Mayor for their hospitality and warm welcome they received at the Rochdale Town Hall one of the pride listed buildings part of the heritage. He assured to serve the people and open links with the indigenous community in an efficient manner.

The Lord Mayor of Rochdale Cllr. Peter Rush in his word of thanks highlighted the Rochdale Borough, its features and issues and welcomed the guests at the town Hall.

A sumptuous lunch was served and the Guests signed the book of visitors.
