Moulana Chishti paid glowing tributes for his services

LONDON: Veteran Kashmiri leader Moulana Muhamamd Yaqoob Chishti said Allah help resolve Kashmir issue in his life. “I am not tired of his journey for freedom of Kashmir spanned over many decades, but the old age has snatched from me the energy which is necessary for freedom struggle”, Chishti said while addressing a function arranged by Jang London on his 90th Birthday.

“I have now lost the energy which I had when I talked to Indira Gandhi eye to eye for the sake of Kashmir issue”, the veteran freedom fighter said.

He praised the efforts of ‘Jang’ for Kashmir cause saying the founder of ‘Jang’ Mir Khalilur Rehman always give top priority to Kashmiri news on his paper and kept Kashmir issue alive. Today ‘Jang’ and ‘Geo’ are playing same role on Kashmir issue and are highlighting Kashmir issue internationally, he added.

Moving the wheel back and reminding his association with Mir Khalilur Rehman, Moulana Chishti said, Mir sahib always treat him like his own brother and friend and always respected him.

Others who addressed the function were Muneer Ahmed Mumtaz, Press Consular of Pakistan High Commission, Amirdin, Allama Shahid Raza Naeemi, Dr Haroon, Muhammad Asghar Butt, Chaudhry Jameel Tabassum of Muslim Conference, Akram Chaudhry Chief Reporter Kashmir Link London, Sultan Zaman General Manager ‘Jang’ and Baseem Baigh Chugtai Head of Operation ‘Jang’ and ‘Geo’.

They paid glowing tributes to Moulana Muhammad Yaqoob Chishti saying Chishti has spent whole life struggling for the freedom of Kashmir and it is recognition of his services Pakistan has awarded him ‘Sitara e Pakistan’. They said Chishti highlighted Kashmir issue in Britain.
