British Muslims congratulate pilgrims

Birmingham: The British Muslims express their joy, satisfaction and congratulate Muslims from all over the world on completing a safe and peaceful Hajj season this year. It is a great relief that by the blessings of Allah (SWT), no major incidents or tragedies were reported during this year’s Hajj. Khalid Pervez, General Secretary of Association of British Hujjaj (Pilgrims) UK, a National Hajj/Umrah specific organisation said “It has only been possible because of the hard work and highest level of services provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards the safety and welfare of the Guests of Allah (SWT) by improving the infrastructure and facilities around the Holy places.” Another reason for most of the tragic incidents which occurred in the past at Hajj and Umrah where thousands of human lives were lost was due to the lack of awareness and ignorance of the vital life-saving health and safety precautions that the pilgrims were not well aware of. This includes the avoidable hardship and difficulties during the performance of Hajj specifically when they are amongst a crowd of up to 2-3 million people. The Association of British Hujjaj (Pilgrims) UK strongly urges all relevant countries that lessons must be learnt from past experiences and training programs should be made mandatory for their prospective pilgrims to perform a safe Hajj & Umrah. The pilgrims must be made aware of all aspects of performing Hajj and Umrah in a safe manner before leaving their country of origin. This will also enable the Kingdom to save a huge amount of resources that they have allocated towards ensuring the welfare & well-being of the pilgrims during Hajj. These measures can help to prevent any future loss of innocent human lives and the outbreak of any infectious diseases during Hajj and the spread to other countries by the Hajj returnees.
