Baghat Singh’s soul had shaken when Muqbool was hanged

BRADFORD: The so-called biggest democracy hanged Muqbool Butt just because he was demanding freedom of his motherland from foreign occupation and this was demand for which Baghat Singh was hanged and it was demand made by Gandhi, Nehru, Subash Chandra Bose, Raj Guru, Sukh Dev Singh from Britishers.

Baghat Singh was hanged for demanding freedom for his people and he stood Indian hero when Muqbool Butt demanded freedom of his country-men he was hanged by Indian Government the soul of Baghat Singh had shaken and souls of Subash Chandra, Raj Guru and Sukh Dev Singh are feeling ashamed for Indian democracy.

These were the views of speakers in a function to mark 30th martyrdom anniversary of Muqbool Butt, who was hanged by India in notorious Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984. The function was organized by Jammu Kashmir National Liberation Conference (JKNLC).

President JKNLC Britain and Europe Khwaja Mushtaq Hussain presided over the function while Shaukat Muqbool Butt, son of Martyred leader was chief guest while Lord Mayor Bradford Councilor Khadim Hussain, David Ward MP from Bradford East, former Lord Mayors Muhammad Ajab, Councilor Ghazanfar Khaliq, Councilor Ali Adalat, TUC President Muhammad Taj, Sardar Aftab, Asif Masood, Nadeem Aslam, Amjid Yousuf, Councilor Ghulam Hussain (Leeds) Sher Azam, Babu Mushtaq, Maroof Rachpal, Khwaja Mushtaq Hussain and Mehmood Kashmiri have addressed the function.

Addressing the gathering Kashmiri nationalist leader and son of Martyred leader, Shaukat Muqbool Butt said State of Jammu Kashmir spread over more than 84 thousand sq miles is an indivisible legal entity and every Kashmiri belonging from any part of divided Kashmir is sovereign of Kashmir.

Kashmiri either speaking Kashmiri, Dogri, Balti, Gojri or any other language has right to decide the fate of State of Jammu Kashmir through his free will, Shaukat Muqbool said.

Muqbool Butt has not only sacrificed his life for freedom of Kashmir but he become a beacon of light for every nation struggling either for their freedom against suppresser or hunger, poverty and exploitation, Butt said.

Addressing the gathering Khwaja Mushtaq Hussain said more than one hundred thousand people have sacrificed their lives for freedom of Kashmir. In spite of having small conflicts between different shades of opinion Kashmiri nation is united on freedom and this will be made a meeting point and help all to get together, he said.

He said it is common notion of people of Pakistani controlled Kashmir that people who are at helm of affairs are not peoples’ representatives but send by Pakistan.

Lord Mayor Khadim Hussain said in spite of having a post of Lord Mayor, a non-political and non-partisan, he is shoulder to shoulder with Kashmir brethren in their struggle for freedom.

David Ward MP said has expressed his assumption that after NATO forces leave Afghanistan the terrorists may spread their muscle towards Kashmir. Kashmir issue is as important as Palestine but it is unfortunate that Kashmir is not being given importance at international level, he added.

He said he had given Kashmiris a guideline to raise Kashmir in British Parliament and through which it would be raise on every forum round the globe.

Taj Muhammad President TUC said in quickly changing international scenario there are possibility that Kashmir issue can gain importance if raise properly by Kashmiri people.

Former Lord Mayor Muhammad Ajab said all the efforts made on Kashmir in [past have failed and proved futile and learning lesson from mistakes Kashmiri nation should evolve a strategy and move forward with unity.

At the end Shaukat Muqbool Butt administered oath to newly elected officer bearers of JKNLC Britain and Europe chapter.
