An armed man has held four people hostage at a bank in the French capital city, Paris, demanding a negotiator, the police say.
The man entered a branch of CIC Bank on Friday around 1450 GMT with a handgun and demanded social housing for himself and his son.
Police say the gunman has released two of the hostages.
A bank staff managed to set off an alarm shortly after the man entered the bank.
A number of helmeted police officers are now stationed outside the entrance to the bank.
In June 2012, another branch of CIC Bank in the southern French city of Toulouse was the scene of hostage taking, where a gunman took four hostages, including the bank’s manager.
