PTI introduced democracy within party: Dr Basit

MANCHESTER: Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) is only party in Pakistan which has introduced the democratic attitude within party, which is source of inspiration for all political parties, said Dr Abdul Basit Tahir, newly elected President of PTI North West.
“Though we are in early stage and we are gaining strength with the passage of time and time is not so far when we will emerge the strongest political force of the country”, Abdul Basit said while addressing the oath taking ceremony. Amir Chishti, former President North West and Ammara Afzal conducted the stage of the function.
He said the elections were held in a transparent and democratic manner and his panel won the elections after getting majority vote and by winning elections the responsibilities have increased manifold. Posts are not stable thing but party manifesto and implementation on it is main aim, he added.
“We will implement and highlight the party manifesto and create unity and solidarity among party ranks”, he said, adding that he has devised a three-prong strategy that includes; strengthen party in North West region, have congenial working relationship with other regions; and close coordination with PTI Britain.
He said after formation of a 13-member working committee in North West he will form town committees to run the party affairs and increase the party membership.
He said PTI is encouraging the youth to come in party and it is the party aim to give more opportunities to youth so that they can play effective role in politics, He said women wing will be formed and the women would be given important role as it is fact that Fatima Jinnah played important role in creation of Pakistan.
Newly elected President PTI North West Dr Basit then introduced Dr Iqbal Khan SVP, Cllr Faisal Rasheed VP, Yasser Chaudhry VP,Additional Secretary General Ammara Afzal, Head of Doctors Forum and Maria Ahmed for Communications.
