LUTON: Pakistan is passing through a bad time ad it is facing multi-faceted problems but even then Pakistan has achieved many successes, said Senator General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence Production.
“The joint project of Gwadar being executed by Pakistan and China will have far-reaching implications on Pakistan’s economy and it will not only strengthen country’s economy but also resolve the worst energy crisis”, General Qayyum said while addressing an Iftar Dinner hosted by renowned journalist Sheraz Khan. Peer Fayaz Ul Hassan Sarwari presided over the function while Lord Qurban Hussain, Qazi Abdul Aziz, Mufti Khalid Mehmood, former Mayors and Councillors including Riaz Butt, Raja Saleem, Naseem Ayub, Chaudhry Muhammad Ayub, Tahir Malik, Muhammad Saleem, Prof Mumtaz Hussain Butt, Hussain Sarwar Shaheed, Chaudhry Muhammad Sharif, Prof Raja Zafar Khan, Syed Tehseen Gilani, and Abdul Aziz were prominent among the participants.
General Qayyum said Pakistan is moving forward and attaining the milestones of development. Present Government took initiatives to eliminate terrorism from the country and adopted a prudent strategy for the success of operation Zarb e Azb.
He said elimination of ‘Bhutta’ mafia from Karachi, local body elections and Sino-Pak cooperation will devise new ways for development and prosperity of the country.
He said overseas community is an asset of Pakistan and their efforts; contribution for nation building is not hidden from any person.
Sultan Fayaz Ul Hassan in his presidential address said Kashmir issue is a very serious issue but it is strange whosoever made Chairman Kashmir Committee; he is lacking knowledge on Kashmir issue which results in no development on Kashmir issue from last one decade.
“Pakistan is ours and we love Pakistan and every Pakistan where so ever he is he loves Pakistan and this is reason which makes Pakistan unique in the world” Fayaz Ul Hassan said.
Lord Qurban Hussain said Pakistan is only country in the world which is representing Kashmir but unfortunately Pakistani leadership failed to present their stance on Kashmir like Indians. This is reason Kashmir issue is still unresolved and main cause of it is weaker Pakistan, he added.
Allama Qazi Abdul Aziz also addressed the gathering while Councillor Riaz Butt, Councillor Raja Saleem, Councillor Muhammad Saleem, Councillor Tahir Malik, Councillor Naseem Ayub, Councillor Chaudhry Muhammad Ayub asked questions from General Qayyum.
