No hurdle bar Kashmiris from freedom: Afsar Shahid
BIRMINGHAM: The AJK Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Chaudhry Muhammad Afsar Shahid has said Kashmir issue has turned into a flashpoint for entire world and now after a long journey for freedom the destination is not so far for Kashmiri nation.
The way Kashmiris understand the value, respect and honor of Pakistani flag and furl it everywhere has passed a message to world-wide that India cannot keep Kashmiris for longtime and Kashmiris are ready to cut the chains of slavery, Afsar Shahid said while addressing a reception hosted by President Tehreek e Kashmir Britain Faheem Kayani. Former President APKCC Raja Amjid Khan, Mehmood Hussain, Anwar Ayub, Councillor Chaudhry Akhlaq and Mufti Abdul Majeed also addressed the gathering.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest Afsar Shahid his childhood, his youth remained firm with freedom movement and one generation was sacrificed in early stage of the movement. Now the spirit of all of us including people living in occupied Kashmir and Indian cannot suppress the freedom movement, he added.
He said Kashmiri nation is charged and ready for sacrifices for the sake of freedom and every forum would be knocked to shake the world conscience. Muslim Ummah must understand the pain of Kashmiri nation and use its efforts for the freedom of Kashmiris, he added.
He said the base of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) was Kashmir issue and PPP is utilizing all out efforts to highlight Kashmir issue to get it resolved.
He said the institutions who declare Muqbool Butt, a pioneer of modern liberation movement of Kashmir, as terrorist are now declaring Afzal Guru as hero who was hanged in same jail.
Faheem Kayani urged the media to give Kashmiri more coverage so that world understands the gravity of Kashmir issue and its importance to be resolved. He said the success of ‘Million March’ was because of media highlighted this issue in its true spectrum.
He called upon rulers of Pakistan to understand that Kashmir is main route of a strong and stable Pakistan and without resolving Kashmir issue they cannot develop or strengthen Pakistan. By holding trade of potatoes and other vegetables Pakistan will not flourish and prosper but it is imperative to go to core issue of Kashmir, he added.
