SDM Continue meetings with candidates till last
BRADFORD: Jammu Kashmir Right of Self-Determination Movement (SDM) under the leadership of its chairman Raja Najabat Hussain and patron Sardar Abdul Rehman continued its meetings with parliamentary candidates till the electioneering was called off.
In North West SDM Secretary General, Women Wing Chairperson Councillor Yasmeen Dar, Sabiha Khan and Amjid Mughal also remained active in their areas.
SDM leaders met Baroness Margret Haiton, Baroness Sandeep Varma, Lord Sir Goosberry, Conservative ex MP and founder of Friends of Kashmir Gerry Waller, British Minister for Local Government Chris Hopkins and other so many leaders and candidates.
During their meetings SDM leader briefed the British leaders about the point of view of Kashmiri people and demanded from the candidates to ensure their support for resolution of Kashmir issue as per UN Resolutions and as per wishes of Kashmiri people. They also demanded to raise strong voice to end the Indian brutalities and worst human rights violations in Kashmir.
SDM leaders got signatures of candidates on a pledge form on behalf of over a million British Kashmiris in which they have accepted the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people and adopt a resolution on the pattern of Palestine. It also reads that Parliamentarians put pressure on India and Pakistan to hold a tripartite dialogue by including Kashmiris as primary party to dispute.
The candidates assured their full support for right of self-determination of Kashmiri people.
