Due to teachers like Dr Ehsan Pak regain lost glory: Lord Mayor
BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan on one side was bestowed by Allah Almighty with huge potential of natural and mineral resources while on the other hand its sons were also given huge potential and mental capability to show their mettle wherever they are, said Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Shafeeq Shah while addressing a special function held in Town Hall.
The function was organized to decorate Dr Ehsan Malik, former Controller Examinations Punjab University and currently serving as Director General Gujranwala Campus of PU and Director Institute of Business Administration, with an award for his historical contribution in the field of education. The function was attended by important personalities of Birmingham, guests from Pakistan and good number of former students of Dr Ehsan and PU. Prominent among them were Resident Editor Daily Ausaf London Mubeen Chaudhry, Chairman Quaid e Azam Trust Raja Ishtiaq, PTI leader Chaudhry Khadim Hussain, Muhammad Ghalib of Tehreek e Kashmir, Shahzad Kareen, Solicitor Muhammad Binyameen, Umar Binyameen, PML-N Youth leader Faisal Mehmood, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ayub Sarakhvi, Abdul Waheed Khan, Chaudhry Akram, Hamza Malik. Lord Mayor in his address said Dr Ehsan is one of the shining stars of Pakistan and the educational institutions once got such teachers Pakistan definitely regain its lost glory in the fields of science and technology and research.
He said chairing many international universities conference in the US and the UK in a short span of two months is not an easy and job which a Pakistani teacher did. “Pakistani community in Britain is proud of Dr Ehsan and pay him glowing tributes for his services in the motherland”, he added.
Dr Ehsan in his brief address highlighted some historical achievements during his term as educationist, saying when he assumed charge as Controller Examinations in PU the degrees of graduated were ending for over two decades. “I have devised a policy to ensure to send the degrees of graduates on their home or institution address and removed the backlog in two years”, he added.
He said IBA Block was constructed by him n self-help basis with the cost of over Rs 80 million, which is a well-equipped educational facilities not less than any international set up.
He said he always helped students in their education and whole life he never deprived a student from education because his family cannot support his education and he got scholarships for such students.
